OK, lets say, just for kicks, that Bush was not elected by most Americans.
Then, I submit, that no president has ever been elected by most Americans.
The problem is that your argument ignores the mechanics of our system..
Non-voters going with the majority is not esoteric, it is at the very heart
of the system. If you don't vote then you are saying that you trust the
majority and their decision. it is a vote fot the winner.

I don't see how my argument is full of "logicial falacies," when that's
exactly what happened. The issue about whether or not a non-vote is a vote
with the majority is a seperate and rather esoteric point that has nothing
to do with Moron's argument that Bush was elected by most Americans. "Most
Americans" did NOT vote for Bush. That they did is just factually
inaccurate.

Well, he has a point. The problem is that his point is full of logical
falacies. The American people did elect Bush. In our system, every
person - aside from certain felons and people deemed mentally ineligible
to vote - have the right to vote. The first decision every voting age
citizen makes is whether to vote or not. If one opts not to vote, his
vote is actually cast with the majority. The non-vote is essebtially a
persons conscious decision to go with the majority. So, if you aply this
logic (which incidentally is the topic of one of the Federalist papers
that is assumed to have been authored by Jefferson), Bush won by an even
wider margin, sisnce you would add all registered voters who did not cast
a ballot in the Bush column. Remember, a ballot not cast is a ballot
cast for the winner of an election.

Well here is _His_ explanation... of how your current President got
elected...

The American people, in general, did not vote for Bush. In fact, the
majority of people eligible to vote didn't vote for Bush. Only the
majority
of those who voted, voted for Bush.
As usual, you're just plain wrong. But, keep squirming.
So in effect Jon claims Bush was elected in a landslide by a minority??
Bwahahahahahahahaaaaaa!!!! How stupid is that??
