Leica MK 40 is a great color plotter and for some reason there are a few
closeouts around priced in the 500 dollar range. I bought one for $495, new but
w/o cables or GPS rcvr. I had a Leica DGPS rcvr/antenna bought on eBay for
$100. I bought the cables and came out with a great daylight readable color
system for about $650. Leica support is not very good, they seem to regard the
marine stuff as a sideline and offer far more online and phone support for
their GPS surverying gear.
