The oldest religious festivals at this time of year all celebrated solstice.


And look at Easter!

It occurs on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal
equinox--a Pagan festival. The word "Easter" comes from the name of an
Anglo-Saxon goddess, Eostre.

And the Easter Bunny? Well, think "fertility"--but in a rather, um...graphic
sense.
