I stand by my statements. A solar sail cannot go anywhere but
downwind. It can use gravity assist from various bodies in space
to go sideways to the solar wind and even directly upwind in
which case the sails would have to be furled or turned edge
on to the solar wind. The velocity a solar sail attains from
going downwind can be used to allow it to travel in any direction
provided it has an intelligent program using planetary mechanics.

Oh cripes... that's not what you said... here's what you said Einstein!

That solar sail will work but
only downwind or crosswind.

And, I still have not visited a single ganz link on this subject.

Yes you have.....

I have
bookmarked a couple of space sites and I read them regularly.

If you did... you'd know how stupid your original statement was!

This is why I know it all.

Bwahahahahahahaaa....
Really Space Cadet?.... then kindly explain how you'd set your solar
sails for a beam reach on a solar wind despite the radial pattern of
dispersion.
Then since you know it all..... explain the description of photon waves as
a "wind"....
