Would *you* believe the Emperor is a god?

The Japanese nation is (and was at the time) one of the best educated
people on the planet. They didn't build some of the most advanced
weapons of the time (and build all sorts of high tech gizmos since) by
believing in a lot of superstitious clap-trap.
