Hi,

I have a Sevylor HF280 inflatable. The directions suggest
only using a motor with a 15" shaft. The MK is 30".

Thbere's a difference in the way the shaft length is measured between
electrics and regular outboards. A 15" (IE "short shaft") outboard is
designed to have the entire propeller beneath the bottom of the hull
with the transom bracket sitting on the top of a 15" transom. The shaft
length on an electri on the other hand is the distance from the bottom
of the "head" to the top of the "foot". But an eletric is not a fixed
shaft length like an outboard. Just set the motor deep enough to work
and you've got it.
