We're not totally immune down here in Florida either. It's a chilly 58F

LOL, and I'll bet the natives are all bundled up. I spent a winter down
there. It was always a funny sight. The natives bundled in their down
winter coats, while the Michigan tourists headed to the beach in their
tee-shirts.
Do you believe there were nincompoops windsurfing, using skimboards, and
lying around on the beach today? The sun was out, and there was not a cloud
in the sky. But the air temp was in the high 50's, and the wind was blowing
onshore at 20+ knots. I was bundled up in a waterproof jacket with hood,
and two layers underneath. When we were anchored up along the leeward side
of a mangrove wall, it got warm enough out to strip down to a
tee-shirt...but when I tried fishing the pass with that strong onshore wind
blowing at me, it was time to bundle up again.
I don't know how I survived 28 years up North.
