The drytop she is wearing here is the same model as one of my drytops,
of a German brand, "kayaker.de", but their site has hiccups when I go to

Actually, it's not uncommon for kayakers to wear faceguards here.

Hers came only after she caught her paddle in her face hard enough to get
her teeth all the way through her lower lip. And that was at the entrance
to a class V rapid. :-(

Thanks again. The amount of information and choices are somewhat
overwhelming on this topic. We have the farmer wetsuits already, figuring
out exactly what else to wear on the top is still an intriguing question
to
me :-)

I think I've got it now. You wear the farmer wetsuit, some sort of shirt
that keeps you warm and won't soak up water if it gets wet, and a drytop of
some sort, what I would call a "paddling jacket."
