NYC is typically cleaner than Paris. During the garbage strike, it

never visited by design) are pretty bad.

Much of Paris is foul. I began to wonder if Paris had any trash/garbage
pickup, or whether folks just dumped their crap out the windows. On my
first visit there I tended to pick stuff up and look for non-existent trash
containers. Soon I learned that it was a futile effort, there was so much
refuse.

That said, I love Paris for a wide variety of reason. Just wish they'd
clean the place up now and then.
