Unfortunately, we can't just leave.

It's the "Pottery Barn" rule; you break it- you own it. We own the mess
over there right now, and we should figure out something to fix it.
Walking away now would be absurd, and would put the absolute lie to
every reason we said we went there....or at least the latest group of
reasons we now say we went there. We should be looking for a solution,
not a "victory" in the traditional sense. There are too many
anti-Americans to kill them all, and no organized leadership to offer a
formal surrender.

However, we'll keep on doing what we've done so far and wonder why we
continue to get the same dismal results. It will be the fault of
somebody else, of course- the neighboring Arab states, the American
moderates and liberals, etc, etc, etc,........
