Thanks for the info. I have an 89 Grady White 24. Seems like I can
get a 225, installed, for uner $15K. I'm on the fence about spending
the extra for the new 250. It supposedly has better low end
accleration, but I hear they are high while the cost of the 225's are
dropping. I'm also looking at the Suzuki 225 & 250. Hope to have it
all figured out by the Atlantic Citry boat show first week of Feb.

My
concern was mid range efficiency, so I bought the Yamaha Sal****er

Series
prop. The prop. is in the shop being tweaked. I already noticed a

big
difference in all aspects (all +++). The old Sal****er Series 225

was not
even close to the performance of the new engine. In fairness my old

engine
had allot of hours on it and was OLD and tired. So far I am very

happy.
Cost was less than $15,000 for the engine. (still allot). Jim

Jim,

How do you like your Yamaha F225? I'm thinking of repowering and

have
generally heard good things about them, (notwithstanding the

above).
What size boat do you have it on and did you repower or buy a new

boat
w/motor? I ask because the only knock against the F-225 seems to be

low
end acceleration. Did you notice a big difference?
