13.5 knots, on two occasions. Once under power (the mast was down), the
other time under sail. Both times were surfing down waves with a good
tail wind, about 25 knots.

As I mentioned, on the flat we've been to 12 knots a few times.

Wrong bourbon breath! Before my old knot instrument bit the dust,
when I was surfing down the face of large Gulf Stream waves, the
knot meter would occasionally peg on 12 knots.

knots in a flat sea, all I need is about 22 knots of wind.
