Yep. Unfortunately, religion is not a force for good in most
people's lives, though. It's a way of feeling smugly superior to
all others ("you're going to Hell and I'm not, nyah nyah"), a way
of justifying their prejudices, and a rationalization for cruelty
& robbery.
Whatever slight positive effect on morality religion might have
is due to fear of punishment, which IMHO is not really anything
to brag about.
