A while back, I asked if anyone knew of a way to temporarily boost the
power output of a small diesel and essentially the answer was negative.
What i wanted was something like NoX used for gas engines. I did talk
to my brother-in law who teaches diesel mechanics and design and he
immediately said "Sure, you use propane injection". It seems that this
is used in heavily modified high power diesels used in diesel dragsters
and diesel monster trucks. He estimated perhaps a 30% increase in
power just by bleeding a small amount of propane from something like a
Coleman cylinder directly into the air intake. Of course, I explained
that propane is heavier than air.......
