Hey, I said I was just kidding about the Voodoo.

Well, dear Captain, I won't be able to visit you until you burn your
voodoo
doll on your cabin walls, per the pictures that you posted.

Burn my Voodoo doll? But, it was a gift. The woman who gave it to me
got possessed by some evil entity. Talking to her after she got
possessed was like you see in the movies. Her eyes looked evil and
she actually hissed and drooled and hatred ushered forth from her.
It scared even me trying to find out what was wrong with her and
to suggest she get help.

They admitted her to a mental hospital soon thereafter for a time
but she got out. Then, she almost killed herself with pills but they
found her passed out on the road and pumped her stomach in time.

Sadly, she was found dead at the full moon year or so ago in the
portico of the health dept. building along with a .38. She'd discharged
the gun into the roof of her mouth. The bullet exited the back of
her head.

Sounds like you want the same thing to happen to you by hanging on to the
evil doll...

Even if I only view it as a gift and not some sort of craven idol?
Certainly there must be a distinction between possessing an idol
and believing in it? If I possessed a Virgin Mary or a Jesus
figurine and viewed it only as art, would that make me a Christian.

In the same manner if I possess a witchcraft idol which I view as
a gift and have no belief in any occult powers associated with it
does that make me a witch?

Galatians 5:19-21 (NASB)
Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which a immorality, impurity,
sensuality, idolatry, sorcery (witchcraft), enmities, strife, jealousy,
outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness,
carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have
forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the
kingdom of God.

But, there is at least one man who can reach and surpass them . . .

We shall see... ;-)

LP

I promise you, dear LP, that should I ever be blessed with a visit from
you we shall, together, properly dispose of the little Voodoo doll. I
would never do anything to make you uncomfortable in your spiritual
life. I can learn a great deal from you and could not ask for a more
suitable guide to help get me back on the right path.
