Sorry old chap but a pilothouse belongs only on a motor vessel.
On a sailboat a pilot house is an abomination.
Ask yourself would you put a barn door on a Lear Jet?

Doug,
We do get good sailing weather all winter long. In fact we get better
winds in the winter than we do in summer. The problem is the cold. That
is why the PILOTHOUSE!
I do a sought of a winterizing. Drain the fresh water tanks and install
electric heater in the Cabin and light bulb in the engine compartment.
When I disconnect the shore power I'm ready to sail. Have to drain fresh
water tanks in case of power outage, which is common here.
Force 5 with light rain is OK but hvy rain or fog doesn't make for
pleasant sailing.
Just purchased a new digetal camera and waiting for a A/V jack (Back
ordered) Hoping to get some pictures of winter sailing to the group
