According to this Maryland web site, the record Hammerhead catch was
191 lbs for a scalloped 8/20/93, and 165 lbs for a smooth. They were taken
by Ocean City. Didn't say what the length was.

time when fishing from a party boat off of Tarpon Springs a hammerhead
surfaced that was much heavier than 99 lbs. Sure looked all of 15 feet.

Maryland has baby hammerheads. The IGFA record, as Capt. Bill said, is 991
lbs...caught by Allen Ogle, Sarasota, FL, May 30, 1982.
