Your complaint must have worked. I haven't seen hide nor hair of the
demon-boy. Unless, of course, he got hit by a bus or died of some foul
disease and is now on Satan's BBQ spit in hell. Either way, we are free of
the demonically possessed. Good work Sea Captain Neal. You are a Godly
gentleman.

Amen and God Bless!

Here you go! Read the paragraph the commences, "Don't "feed" or
"poke" the trolls, and try to get your group to use killfiles and ignore

them."

This is an autoresponse to your mail; you should not receive more
than one autoresponse from this address per day. A copy of our Terms
of Service can be found at http://www.supernews.com/terms_indi.html.

================================================== ===================
If you are a Supernews user who is experiencing problems posting and
suspect you may have run afoul of our abuse filters, your mail may
not be handled in a timely manner unless you include the word
"Review" in the subject or otherwise use a concise subject stating
the problem. Review responses may take some time; if the initial
investigation shows that you are being filtered with cause (ie, to
prevent further spamming or newsgroup disruption) any reply may take
some time. "False positives" (posts filtered due to a glitch in the
filters) will typically receive immediate attention to identify and
resolve the cause of the problem and a quick (24-72 hour) response.
================================================== ===================

This address is only for reporting spam or abusive posts originating
from Supernews.com . It _is_ against our policy for our users to
spam, and we have zero tolerance for spammers - they lose posting
privileges or their account immediately. We keep our anti-spam
measures up to date and focus our energies on preventing any spam
from ever leaving our site - on some days more than 50,000 attempted
posts are not accepted from our users because they meet various
criteria we use to identify spam. We may not respond to your mail
due to this focus on action, not words, and any reply that you do
get may not be immediate.

For best results, be sure to include the entire headers from at least
one of the posts you are reporting. Including any text portions of
the body (not uu/base64-encoded portions, please) may also give us
more useful information to go on. The most important headers for our
uses a

Path:
From:
Message-ID:

If you do not include the Message-ID of the post you are reporting, we
cannot guarantee that the matter will even be investigated.

Please try to verify that the post was made by one of our users.
This can be done by examining the headers as follows:

All of our headers include an X-Complaints-To: containing an
" address. In addition, if the Path contains
"sn-post-##" or "sn-uk-post-01" the post almost certainly came from
one of our users (or was forged to give that appearance). Articles
from our users will contain no X-Trace or NNTP-Posting-* header, but
will contain an X-Complaints-To: header refering to an address at
supernews.{com,net,co.uk}.

If you are reporting posts which infringe on copyrights which you
hold, your report must comply with the notification provisions of
the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. We can respond to you more
quickly if you include the message-id of the post you are reporting.
The message-id may be located in the header of the message. The
report will be sent to our legal department, who will contact you
with further details at their first opportunity if deemed
appropriate. It is best to address such reports to
", as that will insure prompt attention.

Reports of child pornography should be reported using the resources
available at http://www.missingkids.com/cybertip. They will pass the
information to the relevant law enforcement agency.

If you are reporting abuse which is not spam (repeated posts with
essentially the same content), child pornography, or copyright
infringement, please be sure to include information spelling out why
the post is "abusive".

Trolling, flaming, "off topic posting" and "unacceptable language
for this newsgroup" are often subjective, and without your reasoning
behind the complaint we may not understand why action is required.
We will deal with individuals who are bent on newsgroup disruption
as best we can, but a pattern of abuse must be established.
Complaints from more than one regular from the group being affected
are helpful to show that the user has violated "community
standards", etc. In cases of flame wars we will not take sides, and
we will not just "squelch" our user so that the battle is
conveniently over with someone else left standing. Also, the use of
profanity is not considered an actionable offense unto itself.
Usenet newsgroups are adult in nature, and parents should screen
posts to insure they are acceptable before allowing their children
to read them. nfilter (see more information below) can filter based
on the body of the post, allowing automated screening of posts for
profanity should a user find it objectionable and wish to avoid
those posts.

Don't "feed" or "poke" the trolls, and try to get your group to use
killfiles and ignore them. nfilter, available for free at
www.nfilter.org, can add sophisticated news filtering options to
most newsreader software which does not already include such
functionality, although you may wish to investigate other
newsreaders with built in filter capabilities first. The alt.cuddle
FAQ offers sage advice for dealing with Trolls - check
http://www.compusmart.ab.ca/bcp/acfaq.htm#A20 for the full scoop.
Disruptors who "nym-shift" or use "sock puppets" to avoid killfiling
are most likely to have action taken; likewise if they resort to
flooding (by our standards - it needn't be hundreds of articles per
day), repeatedly posting binaries to non-binary groups, or clearly
state that it is their intent to disrupt the group.

Reports of forgery or impersonation should be mailed from the
address being forged/impersonated, or other information
substantiating that you are the "rightful user" of the name or
domain should be provided. Forgery and impersonation must be easily
seen - simple use of a regular's non-unique given name when
"signing-off" (without the use of their signature, address, last
name, etc, or near matches) is hard to establish as forgery or
impersonation unless they in some way directly claim to be the other
person. We will gladly block forged addresses and improper use of
someone else's domain, but we need to hear from the owner of the
address/domain, and have that "ownership" validated in some manner
(by exchanging mail or a 'whois').

Non-exact forgeries (ie, ) are difficult to
block (as they can change), and are arguably not actual forgeries
but parodies. We will do what we can, but cannot make any
guarantees. Ignoring parodies is likely to yield the best results.

We appreciate your report!
