Stock bike for stock bike, the Yamaha RD 350's were untouchable
because they were powerful and LIGHT. My GT380 was no match
because it was quite a bit heavier. When I got done souping it up,
though, it could beat stock RD 350's all day long.

Tell you what, though. Put some 32mm Mikunis and a nice pair
of chromed expansion chambers and screw the right jets into
those monster carbs and even a Kawasaki 500 triple couldn't
touch an RD350 in the quarter.

I'm old now and don't like that bent down position of a
cafe racer. I do have a nice, matching, silver WindjammerSS
with lowers for long-distance touring. It looks great in
cruising mode. Been all over the country with it.

Thats a super clean bike for its age.

Back in the early 80's I had a Yahama RD350 it could smoke any big bike
on the road in the quarter mile.

I suggest you put down bars on it and if you can find one a 1/4 faring.
Nothing like a nice cafe racer.
