I read an article in the local paper last night that said the US Army
command in Iraq is headquartered in one of Saddams marble and gold
leafed palaces. Living amongst the splendor and opulance of the
ruling class. So, it started me to wondering, just what is the
difference between the Saddam regime, and the US regime?

Both allow their commanding ranks to live in luxurious palaces.

Yeah, real luxurious... mortar targets. Those are the best
fortifications available, I know you would have them living out in the
street in tents, easy targets, better for election 2004.

Both use weapons of greatly superior power against poorly armed and
poorly trained insurgent forces

Wrong, Sadam used those methods against his innocent civialians.

Both put down civilian rebellion mercilessly and brutally

Both show little regard for civilian casualties including killing
women and children

Both use nepotism and corruption in spreading around the wealth taken
from the nations populace and redistributed to friends and family of
the ruling elite.

Propoganda by the left for convienience sake, Clinton was the first to
use Haliburton, and then of course because they are the best, and one
of the only corps. who do what they do and have the balls to do it in
a warzone, get a clue idiot.

Both use propaganda and outright lies in diseminating information
about the war or the state of the nations affairs.

Both restrict individual liberties of the people of the nation in
regards to freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and the right to
keep and bear arms.

I hear a lot of talk and spin here, but I know of no one who has had
their library records checked yet. In fact this must be reported to
congress if it happens, and there have been no reports submitted as of
yet. And you know if it happens, you will hear about it. I don't know
of anybody who has been effected by the new rules, short of being a
little late in an airport line. If that is the worst you can find to
really complain about, you have a problem. Fact is, we are mostly
living our lives as we did before 9-11.

Yes, you forgot to really look at the situation with an open mind and
stick to known facts instead of the usual hysterical scare tactics the
folks on your side of the fence use as the basis for your lies, get a
grip.
