I have two 42 gallon auxillary tanks and a 26 gallon "Day tank". The
pickups of the auxillaries lead up hill to the transfer pump and then to a
pair of Racor 1000FG filters before going to the day tank. With the
antisiphon on the auxillaries I get about 2 GPM transfer rate. With the
antisiphons removed I get 4 GPM. What I am thinking about doing is to
replace the antisiphons on the auxillaries with shut off valves and just
leaving them open unless the boat will be idle for an extended period. Is
that in compliance with the rules?

The USCG requirement for anti siphon valves is for gasoline tanks not
diesels. But I confess I don't pay too much attention to this sort of thing
for pleasure boats.
