OAN, we just heard about a friend (a pro jumper) who convinced her friend to
do a jump, even packed her chute so the newbie could feel more confident.
The newbie's chute failed and she was crushed to the tune of 9.8m/sec2.

A friend of mine is in hospital as I write recovering from 2 broken
