Perhaps a good spot for a paddle trip?

Damn, what an EXCELLENT idea! Do a Glen Canyon trip!

What type of boat would be best? Something for motoring around the lake,
but
able to row through the shallows....

(you got me thinking. No permit required.....)

I spent a week paddling Lake Powell 3 years ago. We used kayaks, went
from Hite to Bullfrog. It was a fantastic trip, beautiful water,
great hikes. But, riverman, you...motoring?? Say it ain't so!

Tom

A lot depends on the time/gear/mileage factors. When I do Cataract, I always
motor out from below Satan's Gut, as by that time rations are running low,
and all those miles of pushing with no current are a real killer. Even with
the lake down to what it is, once the current dies out, rowing a fat old
raft is no fun at all.
