Ahoy- been using Ortho 3hrs per day outside for about a week in my
laminating project. No grinding yet. I use a half face respirator with
7500-3 cartridge but I used a 7500-1 for one of those days. (Norton?).
Now I seem to have quite a noticeable sore throat. I can't seem to
find much info about which cartridge to use, all the sites concerning
fiberglass work just say to use one. Resin doesn't sound like "organic
vapor" to me. I can't smell anything bad while working with the goo or
cleanup materials.
I'm almost done but I don't want to do anything that would result in
some kind of permanent lung damage or end up in the big boatyard in
the sky sooner than expected. Any notes from savvy users? Maybe I'm
just getting a cold or something. All right, keep paddling, all of
you,..
I think epoxy is regarded as organic before hardening. Polymers are based on
oil products, and are organic.
Epoxi is allergenic and filters with active carbon is the right stuff.
I can't recall that your throat reaction is typical though. Do you have low
moisture in the air?
