Gore had a larger lead over Bush, than Bush has over Kerry today. We know

You can hang your hat on Gallup's polls, but I wouldn't. I think a 40%
Republican weighting is excessive. Zogby has Bush 3% ahead. Rasmussen has
Bush 2% ahead. The Electoral College vote shows Bush with a considerable
lead *today*, but that changes almost daily, as new polls come out.
