Hi,
Considering a Myacht 43 foot houseboat. It is a pontoon based houseboat.
It
is completely equiped with air, heat, (2) 50 HP 4-stroke engines,
generater,
etc.
The Myachts are very similar in layout to the houseboat I bought, a
Destination. I have heard bad things about Myachts as far as how the
structure is put together. That's hear-say, of course, but you might want
to take a look at the underneath and see how things look.
My boat also has dual 50Hp motors. They could stand to be bigger. It takes
a fair amount of throttle to get any reaction, and docking is a bit harder
than it needs to be.
As for the generator, this is the worst thing about my boat. It used a RV
style generator instead of a marine generator. These require a lot of air
cooling so the generator box is not well enclosed or soundproofed. Not
being a marine engine the exhaust is not water cooled which makes it loud.
Worst of all the generator exhaust is right at the back, where the slide and
boarding ladder is which makes it very unwise to run the generator when
people are swimming. So you can swim to cool off or run the AC to cool off,
but not both.
All in all, I like my houseboat, so you might really enjoys yours too!
