1. Why is the engine running on a small sailboat at sea when there is
apparantly enough wind to cause a fairly short (small sail boat) chop?
2. Are we talking inboard or an outboard.
3.It does not matter much as it is back in again in seconds. With an
outboard you could with repetative events cause some stress wear to the
bracket I guess, but I would not worry about over revs unless it is running
flat out.
