Seems you have no reading comprehension or any logic background what so
ever. So, I ask again, the cops should shoot when ever things are thrown at
them?

I believe the criteria is to answer lethal violence with
lethal violence. Throwing a papered is not lethal. From
what I read, the students were EARLIER throwing tear gas
canisters back at the guard, along with a few rocks. rocks
are not lethal to helmeted guardsmen.

When the shooting started the guard was something like 600
ft from the students. How many people do you know who can
toss a rock that far?
