Tom, you miss the point. If Scotty didn't know the real windspeed, why guess?
He didn't estimate or backpedal until he was caught, then he claimed he had no
instruments. Still worse, I know how differently my boat behaves in 25 knots
vs. 18. I guess you're also saying that Scotty doesn't.
And that wouldn't surprise me at all.
