G If he lied about that, what else did he lie about ..... time will tell, and
whether it benefited us, or not.

Who knows. I'm sure Clinton lied about lots of things, but I'm also
sure that none of them were intended to hurt us as a people for his
own profit. Certainly, Clinton has a huge ego, and just as certainly
he had a left-leaning, centrist Democratic agenda. Some may fault him
for that. But, I don't think he was deceptive about killing people for
the sake of his agenda.

I'm also sure that Bush is not lying about everything and that he is
sincere about his beliefs, as much as I disagree and dislike
him. Unfortunately, he's unwilling to admit mistakes, unwilling to
listen to other points of view, and is quite willing to be led by the
neoconservatives such as Wolfawitz, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Perls, etc. He's
beholden to the religious right, and that scares me, because their
agenda is a Christian state, not a secular state. He's also beholden
by proxy via Cheney to big business. Cheney and Ashcroft have a warped
view of the world and of their own importance in it, and that scares
me too.

I believe we have a strong democracy, but I'm concerned that we keep
the debate on our civil liberties vs. our security open. If we don't,
it's a very slippery slope to the Big Brother state that Orwell
invisioned, whether that be by the government or by big business or by
some combination.
