Well, we sailed out the Sabine river and out into the Gulf for the first
time this labor day weekend. Offshore we had pods of dolphins heading for us
from all directions. It was so cool. You could see them in the distance
heading toward us from all sides. They would swim along side for a while and
swim off as other pods were heading over to check us out. Since there are no
other sailboats that sail out of here (only rairly) maybe they picked us up
on sonar and were just curious, because we were moving along but no motor
sound. Just guessing.

Good guess but wrong. The dolphins hang out in that area waiting for
the shrimpers to come in. Because when they get close to the jetties
they make sure all the shrimp is cleaned and dump lots of small culled
fish that are caught in the nets. You can not cull your shrimp
inshore. And they wash all the crabs, The dolphins are just looking
for a free meal. Sabine is one of the best places to see many pods.
Freeport is just as good. In Freeport there were several pods that
learned to do tricks for fish. They would jump out of the water and do
flips, roll on the side and talk to you, throw water up on the boat
ect..

Your kids look like they were having a blast! Grinning ear to ear.

You video's sure put the lame bobspit helm pictures to shame. Keep it
up!

Bob's an x-movie director and Im sure he is totally jelious.

What kind of camera are you using? Software?

We chose to stay in this weekend, the lake and bay was packed with
all types of vessels. I spent the weekend re-caulking the shower &
head. Oh-boy what fun (

Anyway, here is the short video:
