Why not phone up every pool you can travel to and ask if they have kayak
clubs in? It might be best to approach this one slightly backwards!

Hello all,

I couldn't find a FAQ, so apologies if this isn't appropriate.

I'm looking for a canoe club that trains on a pool in Loughborough. I
suffer from CFS/ME (A chronic fatigue disorder.
http://www.emedicinehealth.com/articles/9217-3.asp), thus cannot
travel far often. I've been using kayaks on holidays and such since I
was small and enjoy paddling, although currently I rock about as if
it's my first time on the water and I cannot use a spray deck.

I was very nicely allowed into the club at a nearby school, but now
that I've graduated from high school this is no longer possible. The
only other club within a reasonable (for me) distance I can find is
only open to Loughborough Uni students. So, I was wondering if there's
anybody else, perhaps in a 'hidden' club or from out of town, who has
paddling sessions on a Loughborough pool (or somewhere in the
environs) and would not mind me joining them. As indicated above, I'm
not exactly an asset (Spot of English understatement, here.) to any
group of paddlers, but I would pay my club dues regularly and actually
manage to attend only infrequently, so hopefully I wouldn't be too
irritating.

So, anybody out there? Any ideas on where else I could ask?
Thank for any help,
Steff
