So, I'm think of buying a '66 Luhrs sport boat for restoration.
Any advice? ;)

We owned a '68 28ft Luhrs sport fisherman with a single 318 Chrysler Crown.
Was a great boat would plane at 10 knots but everything above the fiberglass
hull is a sandwich of plywood and fiberglass. So I doubt there will be much
in good shape above the hull but if you have the desire it is a great hull
design. You will find 500lbs of lead in the bilge just ahead of the cabin
helm....so if you think it is sitting a little nose heavy this is why.
Hey Mark...
Thanks - I looked at it and there is a lot of work to do on the boat.
The owner replaced the 318 with a 350 and it wasn't working properly.
On a test run, the boat never got above 7 knots. The stringers were
junk also - a lot of work to make this work. The cabin was pretty
much toast and the wiring was suspect. I actually found that lead you
spoke of when I pulled up the floor boards in the cabin.
Took a pass. :)
Thanks for the advice.
