Soon as it cools down a bit I'm going to pull the boat and do a bottom
job.

I usually just roll on the bottom paint.

Do you think it would make any preformance difference if I sprayed the
bottom paint on over 2 coats of spayed on epoxy instead of just using
a brush and rollers?

Depends upon the type of paint you're spraying.

I used to spray VC-17, but most ablatives and/or modified epoxies are almost
too thick to spray well. And of course you have the problems of overspray.
It took me longer to tape a plastic barrier around my boat (to keep
overspray off the neighboring boats--a marina rule) than it did to roll on
two coats of the stuff. Spraying, IMO, is probably not worth the effort
with bottom paint.

If you do spray, be sure to wear a foolproof respirator with organic
canisters.

Here we have yard hands to do most of the work including bottom
painting. But thanks for the tips. Most likely I will just stick to
having it rolled on. They spray quite a few bottom here, but not much
2 part epoxy.

I was thinking more on the smoothness of the paint issue.
