Thanks. The only real satisfaction was catching up "Jazzy" and beating
the
"rented" J33. One of these days I'm going to do one of these in style,
on a
boat like this:

Looks like the comfortable way to travel, but I'd say that Contessa 43
is more like style. That's a really pretty boat.
The Contessa is a beauty, almost as pretty as the Frers that won in A.
It seems that you have as good a chance of winning in a fast boat as a
slow
one,
Sure. That's what handicapping is all about.
Actually, in a rising breeze you've a much better chance of winning in a
slow boat than a fast one. Or in flukey conditions where you can watch
the boats ahead and tell which way *not* to go
What I meant to say, slow boats have as good a chance of winning overall as
fast, last year a boat in the high 100's won overall.
... plus no sail changes, no sail rolling up or folding, I think the
most
they might have done is pack a spinnaker.
What'd they do, play cards??
Take showers, watch movies, sleep, eat, etc. Someone told me that we had to
work as hard as everyone else, but I suspect this depends on the type of
boat you're sailing on, I might be wrong but I don't think the folks on the
LH worked as hard as we did.
