Just a quick question for people.
W/ the growing popularity of larger and larger towable (Ie - the Great Big
Mable) Is it "safe" to use the ski pylon for pulling it - or would the 2
mooring hooks on the back of the boat be better?
W/ the Big Mable w/ 4 or 5 people on it - it seems to create just a ton of
pull. Id hate to bend or break or just stress the pylon too much.
What do most of u guys do?
BTW - My boat is a 03 Tige 22v Riders edition.
Thanks
Rob

DO NOT TOW FROM MOORING CLEATS! Mooring cleats would be lucky to stand 250
lbs of pull, before ripping from the deck.
The pylon is rated to around 2000 lbs...you are in no danger of breaking
anything pulling Big Mabel from it.
The only reason anyone would want to pull from the back of a ski boat, is to
make more room on board. But I think your Tige is a v-drive...if so, you
wouldn't gain any room by moving to the back of the boat.
Also, your Tige *should* have a center-pull "ring" in the top-center of the
transom. It too is rated very high...you could tow from that if you wanted.
Good luck.
