I don't think a book on the subject will be all that useful when it comes to rules and regs. These will vary depending on what State / City you plan to live in. Might give you some general info and some info on things like insurance and re-sale value.
As far as the houses go, I think they are pretty much the same as a regular house but sitting on a float constructed with aluminum tubes, plastic tubes or foam blocks. No basement though g.

I have become very interested in a floathome and realize that I know nothing about them. Could someone be kind enough to recommend some reading material so I could become better informed as to the rules and reg, environmental concerns,etc. At this point all we know is that we love the ocean and can live in a small space.
