Basskisser,
When I heard that information about Kerry, it did not sound correct to me,
but I have not been able to find the correct information about Kerry's
attendance at intelligence committee meetings and the minutes at the
meeting. Did you actually find some info to disprove the statements that
are being made?
It's just common knowledge. I thought that anybody who thought they
knew anything about the United States congress, knew that, when
congressmen are on committees, that much of that time is spent in
private session, John Smith. Also, you probably don't know this
either, but when congress is in session, the congressmen come and go,
they may pop in for an hour, then go to a private meeting, etc. Not
knowing that, you also probably don't know that, unless they actually
speak, there attendence won't be in the meeting minutes.

Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), also a member of the committee, said, "The
fact
of the matter is, even though he claims to have gained a lot of that
expertise by serving on the senate intelligence committee, during his
eight
years of service on the intelligence committee there were forty-nine
public
hearings held by the intelligence committee, and John Kerry was absent
from
thirty-eight of those forty-nine hearings
Yeah, but as usual, the right wing spin doctors are at work, making it
sound as if Kerry simply decided not to be involved. Nothing is
further from the truth. Why must you righties lie ALL of time? Meeting
minutes are available to the congressmen, if they so choose. In those
meeting minutes, which Kerry has explained because of the lying right
wing, you'd see that in almost all of those thirty eight times, he WAS
there, but was in private session. You righties spin well, I must say,
because most don't know or realize that a lot of the time in committee
meetings is spent in private sessions, along with other members.
