I rather put up with the chance of being hit by a hurricane anyday,
than to know Im going to be hit with a blizzard and freezing weather
every year.
Every place on Earth has it's problems. Most have some compensating
blessings, although you may have to look really hard...

True, but it's a PITA and it lasts a lot longer.

surely wouldn't be in love with flooding or having the sides torn off my
house.
That only happens to people who live in the wrong place, for example,
shifting sandbars that happen to be above high tide for a few years in a
row... or filled swampland... or alluvial plains downstream of several
large river basins... or just downhill from the huge new mall parking
lot... the list goes on and on...
Flooding along the Mississippi system is a bigger problem that
hurricanes, and it happens as regularly as winters up North
... Or for that matter, having to run out with the boat to save it from
being smashed ashore....
Now *that* is a real concern. It's worse that the boat is a 3 hour drive
away. The staff at our marina is very good, which helps.
