The historical significance comes from the fact that the majority of people
owning property there worked their tail off for 40 or 50 years, attaining
those expensive residences in Port Royal and other assets. That is rarely
seen in the US now-a-days, especially in the NE U.S. and every "major" city
that has "museums, orchestras and all that goes with them" like their costs
being extorted by bed wetting politicians and abetted by their supporters.

Give it time - that part of FL will look like the opposite coast in 20
years.
