Horses and boats are incompatible. Both require weekends of work,
involvement and such. We gave up the horses when it dawned upon Janie that
she hadn't ridden / lunged / anything her gelding for over a month one
summer. He'd won two Show Hack classes the previous month at shows in
Louisville, KY, and Mason, MI. There were two shows coming up in July and
there was no way she was going to have him ready. It just isn't possible.
