No difference at all. Sometimes I'm using piloting and others I'm using
pilotage .... them's the same ting.

1. To serve as the pilot of.
2. To steer or control the course of.
"piloting" means control of, steering if you will.
"pilotage" means navigation by landmarks.
Gee, I guess all the pilots of the world need to update their definition base
to conform to yours........... nah.
