5200? That's almost a permanent bond! I can't imagine that being a good
thing for chain plates and the standing rigging. I was looking for something
that seals well, remains flexible but allows future work on the rigging.

I've used Boat Life and Boat caulk for the last few years to seal my
chain-plates. They need to be rebedded almost annually to avoid the
drips.
Has anyone used something that is more durable? I have a collection of
chemicals in the boat shed including 3M 4200 and Dolphinite which I have
not
tried. They seem like they might be TOO permanent.
What has worked for you?
TIA
5200 3M use it all the time.
