No you don't. You can write whatever contract you want, as long as both
parties agree. Unless you already signed, and even then the law usually
gives you a few days to back out. He still wants it sold! But it should be
water-tested first. Some people say even to have a new boat surveyed!
But don't let him tell you what you have to do. You're the customer. Set
terms, and then the seller has the right to decline to sell, but other than
that you don't have to do what you're told.
