It appears that submerged stainless steel parts of my MERCRUISER ALPHA ONE are
being plated with a layer of zinc from my sacrificial anodes. Salt water
enviornment. Boat has a 30amp galvanic isolator. Using a silver/silver
chloride corrosion test probe with a FLUKE digital VOM shows 1.08 - 1.1 vdc.
Removing shore power as well as DC power doesn't change those readings.
Seems I read something about the cause being too much (many) anodes?
Any thoughts welcome
Thanks
Mike
Mike, I normally boat in freshwater, and trailer my boats, so I'm no
expert. I *have* read that if there are adjacent boats with
electrical "leaks", you may be fighting a losing battle. The zinc
plating may not be coming from your anodes, but their's.
