Yes, but it's best to go with modifications on the hull. Stevenson Projects
sells kits for afew types of smaller sailing craft. Their designs can be
built without the enclosed cabin, which requires some ingenuity, but can fit
more crew, and would be slightly more "period" for re-enactors.
It'd also give you a good feel for life aboard a "real" ship of the time.
