yeah i have ( the unfinished part...don't know about the bailing out)
a former student is working for the engineer/architect santiago calatrava,
responsible for the major stadium.-----the roof is only now being started
a lot of work just to do this, as it is a complex structure.
in any normal venue, i'd say all bets off
for the olympics? who knows, there is a lot at stake.

Nah, I went thru the Olympics here in Sydney.
I doubt that Athens will come close.

FWIW: I've been hearing some rumblings about problems in Athens,
ie--hotels
not finished (no water or electricity), some Olympic venues not finished,
and some athlete residence facilities not finished. The word is that some
of these facilities may not be finished in time, and that the IOC was
asking
Sydney if they could be a sudden bailout if Athens falls through.

Have you heard any of this? Or is this just BS?
