Sorry to bust your bubble but RR got Jimmy elected. We had an excellent
president, arguably the most honest man in Washington, in Gerry Ford. But,
had he won, it'd have been 8 years before another Republican could run vs

if Carter won. Mindful of his own deteriorating mental condition, RR
failed
to rally the radical Christian right wing of the party, which he
controlled,
to Ford and instead turned them toward Carter - a minister.

Give the man his due, but let's not start rewriting history before he's
buried.
