No, I was suggesting that $1,500 for applying a couple of gallons of
bottom paint was excessive.
IOW, that's what you _meant_ to say?

Jeez louise... Just what was so difficult about..
"They also have had a long-standing prohibition against a boat
owner doing any bottom work, although that may be becoming more common
around the country for environmental reasons. Still it seems a bit of
a gouge to have to pay the $1,500 for a bottom job involving a couple
of gallons on bottom paint. "
Do you really believe the term "bottom job" is vague to anyone in this
group who owns a boat? I specified "a couple of gallons of bottom
paint" to give some idea as to the scope of the work. I am not
talking about a boat that is 80' LOA, I am talking about a 34' boat,
that requires a day or two, start to finish. I am simply pointing out
that I object to being forced to pay what I consider to be an
excessive amount for a relatively simple, unskilled task that most
boat owners undertake year in and year out. For some reason, you
appear to be the defender of practices which most of us conseder to be
"screw jobs". One can only wonder why. All in a day's work?
