Default getting there,=bummer

It's been a great 7 months cruising Mexico, but we're at the end of
the season (hurricane time is here)and we're bummin' big time. We're
in San Carlos, near Guymas, Mexico, and this is where we'd planned to
leave the boat for a few months while we try "land cruising" for the
summer.
Problem is, laying up the boat for the summer sounds like a major pain
in the aft. The heat here is so extreme that cans can explode if you
leave them aboard. Bugs can get in and multiply. All the rubber and
plastic will crumble. The lifelines even have to come off so they
don't melt!
Thinking now about trucking the boat to the northwest where we'll be
hanging out mostly this summer. What are the problems with moving
boats by land? (Besides the xpense)
